Professor Mary Ip Associate Dean of Medicine (Education and Student Affairs)

We are fortunate in that the EAS students who have been admitted to the programmes of our Faculty have an outstanding track record of both academic and personal qualities. They were able to quickly adjust to the University programmes, and blended in well with other classmates from different streams of admission. We note that they may be under a bit more pressure to "prove" themselves up to par, but this tension would ease off over the first semester of study. In fact, our Faculty has always admitted students from various backgrounds, from matriculation to doctorate entrants, from Hong Kong to the Mainland of China to overseas countries, from JUPAS schools and non-JUPAS schools, and the introduction of the EAS has simply led to further diversification. In view of this, our Faculty is working on a programme for effective transition and student support, which will facilitate adjustment and development of students as individuals, and allow the full potential in each of them to be brought forth.
